Mayfield Assessment & Support Services & Accommodation Assist - Action Homeless

Action Homeless is a charity based in Leicester dedicated to tackling the causes and consequences of homelessness. We provide supported accommodation and resettlement services which seek to enable people who are homeless to rebuild their lives. We also undertake preventative work in the community to stop homelessness from occurring, especially amongst groups of people who are particularly at risk.

Accommodation Details

Mayfield Assessment & Support Centre offers 36 units of accommodation funded via Leicester City Council. The service provides emergency accommodation and support to those in crisis. Offering a planned program of support leading to independent accommodation.

Mayfield House, The Hollies and Jarvis House offer a variety of temporary tenure, with single rooms in shared accommodation, ranging from fully catered to self catering, each site has communal shared living, dining and bathroom facilities. In addition Mayfield Assessment & Support Centre provides an emergency bed and a severe weather sit up service which is available to rough sleepers through the No Second Night Out Leicester pathway.

Additional services are; Accommodation Assist - 36 units of accommodation, providing a range of temporary accommodation solutions. This consists of shared houses, bedsits, and one and two bedroomed flats across the city. We also have a safe house for women and children fleeing Domestic Violence all these services can be accessed via Action Homeless Duty Desk as above.
Action on Empty Homes – Action Homeless have renovated a number of empty properties, including self contained flats and shared houses, in Leicester which are offered as longer term housing solutions to people leaving homelessness services. As with all other services, all queries and referrals are directed to the Action Homeless duty desk
Minimum Age
Men with a present history of arson, violence or sex offences. Women who's support and level of risk may/could pose a threat to young children and babies.

Single Men and Childless Couples & Women and Children up to age 12 in need of emergency accommodation.

Accommodation Assist - Accessed via self referral, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm by telephoning Action Homeless Duty Desk on 0116-221 1857.

Bridge House - Women & Children experiencing Domestic Violence. self referral - Monday to Friday telephone Action Homeless Duty Desk on 0116 - 221 1857.

Mayfield Assessment and Support Centre is accessed via the Single Access Referral through Housing Options.

Phone or call in at Housing Options Centre Mon-Fri 9am-4pm (from 1pm on Tues).
