Sad news: Yvette Adams

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we share with you that our colleague and friend Yvette Adams passed away on Sunday 31st January from an on-going illness.

Yvette joined us in 2017 as a night shelter supervisor on a temporary contract. The following year she became our Winter Night Shelter coordinator, supporting our venues, volunteers and guests. When the WNS ended she stayed on as a support worker helping our resident. Yvette was passionate about helping people who were vulnerable and ensuring they got the help they needed to rebuild their lives. She will be missed by us all, she has left a huge hole in our hearts and in the charity.

She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Yvette wishes were for flowers not be sent rather a donation be made to One Roof Leicester. A donation page has been created in her memory. To donate please visit:

Yvette's funeral will be held on Monday 22nd February at 12pm. Unfortunately the restrictions on the number of people at funerals means that a lot of people will not be able to attend therefore the family will be arranging a live stream. Details of the stream will be shared on our Facebook page.

On Wednesday 24th February at 6pm a virtual memorial service will be held using Zoom. If you wish to attend please contact us and we will send you the link.

Please remember and pray for her family and friends during these difficult days.
