Private Rented Scheme

Are you a property owner who would like to know more and support our work?

We are working with Leicester City Council to increase the pathway out of homelessness into secure accommodation. Unfortunately the availability of social housing has significantly decreased in Leicester (as it has across the country) leaving many single people rough sleeping or homeless.

To address this pressing issue Leicester City Council have launched the Private Rented Scheme, which is aimed at landlords with one-bedroom or shared properties.

This amazing collaboration with Leicester City Council is a win-win situation for both landlords and tenants. By partnering with them, you will be supporting them to address the city's housing needs but you will also benefit from various advantages (depending on the scheme) including:

  • Free tenant matching service which includes a tenant vetting process: Leicester City Council employs a rigorous tenant vetting process to ensure responsible and reliable occupants for your property.

  • 12-month rent guarantee agreement: Participating in this scheme ensures a reliable and consistent rental income stream, offering you, the landlord financial stability

  • Incentives and Assistance: As a valued partner, you may be eligible for a range of incentives including a non-repayable cash bonus of up to £1,000 free property inspections, and deposit guarantee - these will depend on the scheme you sign up to.

  • Community Contribution: Collaborating with us means contributing to the growth and well-being of our community, providing accommodation for those at risk of homelessness and fostering a positive impact on the city's housing landscape.

For more information We believe that by working together we can create a thriving and sustainable housing solution for both landlords and tenants.

Thank you for considering Leicester City Council's Private Rented Scheme. We look forward to partnering with you to provide quality housing to our community.
